John Berry has been owner of Corner Post Financial Planning in Mineral Wells, Texas, since 2006. At Corner Post, John counsels clients on strategies to help them pursue their goals, whether that be planning for retirement, providing for a child's education, or leaving a legacy.

John holds the CFP® designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. Individuals achieving and maintaining the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation agree to adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism, and diligence when dealing with clients. Several years of industry experience is required, as is passage of a rigorous exam testing knowledge in key areas.

One of the things that is most important to John is providing financial education, whether to clients or to the communities he serves. He participates in career day programs for students, and speaks to various groups about financial matters.

John began his career in the financial services industry as a supervisor at AIM Investments. He has also worked as a regional business consultant with Curian Capital. A proud Aggie, John graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station.

John enjoys volunteering for causes he cares about. He is a member of the Mineral Wells Noon Lions Club board of directors and previously served as president of the Hope, Inc. Women's Shelter board of directors. He recently joined the volunteer leadership of Pine Springs, a New Mexico summer camp.

John and his wife, Melanie, have two boys, Trey and Michael. John's family has deep roots in the area, residing in Jack County since the mid-1800s. In fact, John and his family live on part of the old family homestead.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
